This bowl is decorative only. Perfect for display or holding small trinkets/dried flowers. Due to the nature of Raku Pottery, this is not food safe or suitable to hold water.
The was made using Ashraf Hanna clay and using the naked raku process. Fired in a gas kiln, the bowl is removed when at over 1000oC before having sheeps wool draped over it. It burns away and the carbon leaves its pattern.
Imperfection: There are hairline cracks due to the shock in temperature. Still a beautiful piece
The sheeps wool was gathered from fences during a visit to Uist in the Outer Hebrides.
